How to change the default Folder view in Windows XP

Windows XP always remembers the settings saved for a folder. If you have changed the folder view of a particular folder, it will be remembered next time you open it.

If you need to change the default folder view, please follow the steps below.

  1. Open a folder
  2. Right click on a empty space and select View
  3. Now select the default view you need to set
  4. Now this setting is saved for the particular folder. To apply this setting for all folders, click on Tools and select Folder Options from the top menu bar
  5. Click on view tab
  6. Click on Apply to All Folders. Done
