How to make a micro sim from a normal sim

Since iPhone 4 and iPad 3G are new in the market, the network carriers in many countries have not thought of providing the micro sim for those users. Same is happening here in India too. So all we need is to cut down a normal sim to create a micro sim.

I searched in the internet and found many articles and videos for this and I found a template made by sebby.net and is very useful in for cutting down the normal sim to micro sim for your iPhones and iPads.

  1. Hello
I just did this and it worked. Thank you. We just received our iphone4 but were dissapointed we could not transfer the sim card because the iphone 4 requires a smaller sim card plastic. Then found out we can just cut it down to size and so I used your template. IT WORKS! Now the phone is up and running and we dont have to wait to organise a new micro sim card.
    Thank you
    Terry

  2. This really does work. I just bought an iphone 4 S and had to cut my sim down. Be very careful when drawing the lines on your sim card, it must be exact. Took me a little bit but after a while I got to fit and it works fine. Be careful when cutting near the metal contact area.

I have just a question, I don´t know if this template is able to cut any kind of sim card as there are differents sim cards.
I´am really worry about that… someone else know if it is able for T-Mobile sim cards?
    Thank you!

! Finally I’ve found something which helped me. Appreciate it!

  6. Works fine. Btw you also get cutters which can do the job just fine. Ask your corner shop if they have one or you can get it online for $5 to $10. It looks like a stapler, you put the sim in and press it. It cuts the sim into a micro sim. 🙂

  8. Hello! Thank you tweaked this page with a template to sim card. Have got myself a samsung S4. Was very surprised when the old sim card did not fit. This template allowed me to cut the sim card to the correct size and then where you just have to insert the new card! & Phone works great anywhere!

  10. Thanks for posting this, cut down a regular TIM chip to a micro sim to fit into a Samsung Galaxy S4. Cut a little bigger then filed down with a razor knife not a cutting motion but shaving with the other size of the blade… worked very well and fit in very nice and snug !!!! AWESOME PROCEDURE. —– remember to print acutal size !!

  11. Hi!

I want to do this but just worried about breaking the card.

What is the best to use – seeing as though you have said not to use scissors?

  12. I would just like to add some insights from my experience on this using the same template. I and my co-workers used scissors to cut the SIM cards and they worked fine. We didn’t actually have to be exact. Sometimes I would even make supposedly fatal mistakes that make the width shorter than intended, but it always worked fine. I and my co-workers outputs have always had a 100% operational success rate so far. I have done this for cutting SIMs for family and friends on their Nexus phones, iPhones and other phones – and always with scissors, sometimes with little mistakes – narrower than intended, possibly due to slack in quality coming from a zero failure rate LOL. From our experience, it appears that it’s OK to slightly bend the SIM cards, which happens when we use scissors.

  13. Dear
    I bought Samsung galaxy s3, neo I-9300,

I also has small sim card slot.
I was written on the box Only for European sim cards. i did not check this when I bought the phone.

Please tell Indian sim card will work in it.

    thanks

  14. It didn´t worked for me. The card still too big after cutting it and did not fit inside my movile Sansumg Grand Prime and I can´t cut it smaller becouse I can damage the golden part. :((
